Entry Requirements

Recognition of Prior Learning and Credit

You may already have sufficient life, studies or work experience to meet the requirements for modules or competencies of a course. Recognition of Prior Learning may mean you only need to study modules or competencies that are new to you. This may shorten the length of the course, or give you a lighter timetable.

How to apply for RPL

First, talk with the Enrolling Officer for your selected course. They will advise you of the specific content of the course and the evidence you will need to provide to demonstrate your prior learning.

Then you will need to complete an RPL application form, available from Teaching Departments and Student Administration offices at all campuses.
Submit your completed RPL Application Form to your teaching department together with your completed enrolment form, 15 working days prior to commencement of the module or competency.

If your application is successful, Student Administration will update your academic record and forward you a copy of results. If you are unsuccessful, the teaching department will contact you to discuss your options.

Credit Transfer

You may be eligible for a credit transfer if you have completed modules or competencies that are the same or deemed equivalent, either in a different course or at another educational organisation, locally or internationally.

Application for Credit Transfer forms are available from Teaching Departments or Student Administration.
